Mike Williams and Alf Haywood led a very interesting workshop attended by eight members and one guest on writing believable characters.
We wrote exercises that included introducing Nigel Farage into a novel, short story or poem, which provided us with a splendid poem from Brenda. We were asked to summarize the perceived character of Bruce Forsyth, and examine the mind of a 15 year old girl in 1899 before being taken way out of our comfort zone and into extreme cruelty in Bosnia.
There were some quite spirited discussions, which proved once again that we all need to find out what works for you?
Many thanks to Mike and Alf for what must have involved hours of preparation work.
